Northeasterly winds to strengthen Typhoon Nesat impact on Taiwan

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — While Typhoon Nesat is expected to remain south of Taiwan, its effect on Taiwan was and will continue to be reinforced by strong northeasterly winds, the Central Weather Bureau reported on Sunday (Oct. 16).As of 8:40 a.m., the typhoon was located 290 kilometers south of Eluanbi, Taiwan’s southernmost point, and was moving westward towards Pratas Island.

Taiwan starts vaccination campaign for Medigen recipients

Expansion of southern Taiwan's Kaohsiung International Airport to begin in 2023
